Uta Hagen Nine Questions for Lost Girl

Who am I? - Wendy Darling, young adult, character from Peter Pan with two Brothers who left with their father, she lives with her mother in her childhood bedroom, she is stubborn and sad and stuck in the past

What time is it? - the time period is somewhat irrelevant to this show as the underlying story of Peter Pan is timeless, but the show itself is set in modern day. She states that whenever Peter Pan leaves, it snows, though she makes it sound like she is in a continuous winter, so that actual season may be unknown

Where am I? - Most of the show is set in Wendy's childhood bedroom, which can look like the original set from Peter Pan, or more modern looking and more bare (two fewer children in that room). The country/city is not identified, but could really be anywhere

What surrounds me? - the people she interacts with most in the present of this play is her mother and the lost boys, though she has flashbacks where she is talking with peter, to a detective, to a doctor, and to her therapist. The world seems to continue to move on without her while she is stuck in place, so her outside environment seems like a blur to her, she is constantly stuck in memory of the magical place neverland

What are the given circumstances? - Wendy has returned from Neverland and is hung up on her past. Her story to the real world is that she and her brothers as well as many others (the lost boys) were kidnapped by Peter Pan (takes the magic away from the whole story). Wendy's life has not really moved on since then, she stays in her room all day crying, rarely sleeps, and rarely leaves the house.

What are my relationships? - Wendy has relationships with her mother, the lost boys (a more romantic relationship with Slighty), the other girls who were taken by Peter Pan, and Peter himself. Wendy also has a complicated relationship with her past in general.

What do I want? - Wendy wants closure from her time with Peter and to finally move on with her life, to truly grow up. Wendy believes the way to do this is to find Peter and get her kiss back, which she says she has given to him.

What is in my way? - Wendy does not know where Peter is or if she will even be able to find him. She feels hopeless but then she begins to feel determined, this in itself helps to bring her out of her slump because she starts trying at something. In the moment in this monologue, Wendy just wants to be left alone to sulk and to be comfortable in her state of sadness.

What do I do to get what I want? - Wendy goes out in search of Peter, talking to people, putting up flyers, making an effort to find him and therefor making effort with moving on with her life. In the end she finally sees Peter again but she seems to realize that she doesn't need him, and she never really needed him, which finally gives her a bit of closure and peace.
